Summary:   Dr. Phillips is one of the newest Dog Parks in Orange County. It has become a fast favorite due to the long delay in opening, but more importantly it’s prime location! It is south of Sandlake Road, off South Apopka-Vineland heading toward Disney. To find the park, you have to follow Buenavista Woods Boulevard (which intersects with Apopka-Vineland) all the way until it ends, and continue past the elementary school. Once you enter the human park, continue to the back near the lake and park your car there. The Dog Park is tucked away behind the basketball court in the south-east corner of the park. This park is clean, well maintained, and of a simple design! It has both Small Dog and Large Dog areas, a Dogipot in each area, and a Water Fountain in each area. Humans have a Cement Walkway, a Picnic Table with seats, and a Garbage Can in each area. This park has some shade trees with a nice view of the lake. Expect to see quite a number of people and to make some friends. It can get a bit noisy due to the basketball court and the kiddie water park. We’d love to see some agility obstacles eventually added to both areas. Dr. Phillips Dog Park is in a very nice environment and should be visited by you and your pooch today!

Something to be HIGHLY AWARE of is that POISONOUS SNAKES have been seen in the heavy brush by the fencing. Both Rattle Snakes and Coral Snakes have been spotted. This was conveyed to me by a gentleman who was there with his dog and told me he worked for Orange County. He seemed credible and knowledgeable, and gave me no reason not to believe him. Park officials say they haven't seen any snakes at this point. That certainly doesn't mean they don't exist. Better safe than sorry. The important thing to remember is that the snakes will come out in the morning when it starts to get warm and could be laying by the fence. If you are the first person there, don’t just let your dog run in before inspecting the area. The snakes will fear you and should be rarely seen. If you see one, stay away and get a park official.
